Bronzini is a Mediterranian fish, which is a lot like sea bass, is growing in popularity, but Komi was the first place I knew of that started serving it.
This suckling pig is the best dish at Komi and tastes a lot better than it looks in this photo.
also topped with olive oil and sea salt. The world most perfect dish.
I had this grilled stuffed squid the other day at 2 Amys. It was stuffed with bread crumbs, anchovies and a whole mess of other wonderful ingredients.
Another treat at 2 Amys. A octopus salad. I actually didn't get to try this, but I thought this bowl looked so beautiful with the octopus, cilantro, and lemon, that I had to take a picture of it.
This was the "exciting at first, but bland in the end" beef taco salad that Amy had at Las Margaritas.
This isn't the greatest photo, but masitas de puerco is my favorite Salvadoran dish lately.
This was the veal tongue I had the other night at 2 Amy's. It was served on top of beans and topped with Italian dressing.
Lemon-almond biscotti, fig-filled sugar cookies, and ginger snaps. Great with a cup of coffee for dipping.
This is an interesting type of mozzarella with a layer of mozzarella on the outside which is filled with buffalo curd and cream. It comes topped with pepper and olive oil with crusty Italian bread.
In case you've never had a mini dosa before...it's a crepe filled with tomatoes, onions, peppers, and chicken. The filling itself is pretty spicy, but the chutneys on the side can either have a cooling effect or make the dosa even spicier.
Agnolotti stuffed with imported truffled double cream mozzarella and sweet peas in a light tomato sauce. This dish started out good, but then Amy got a little bored of it. I think it needed a spicy kick to the sauce.
Kobe Beef with fava beans, baby fennel with pecorino cheese and aged balsamic vinegar sauce. This was on the chef's tasting menu, but I ordered it a la carte. It was probably some of the best kobe beef I've ever had, but quite frankly, I only had kobe beef once before. $40 - ouch!
Housemade buckwheat flour Pappardelle with pheasant, porcini mushroom and tomato ragout. I swear there was Italian ham in the ragout.
Tosca didn't necessarily call this Italian Bread Soup which they happened to have on special, but it certainly seemed like it. Served at room temperature and a dollop of burrata di buffala mozzarella. On top of the tomato based broth (or gravy if you please) you can see the fried basil leaves.
Sweet yellow pepper soup with sharp pecorino cheese and olive croutons. This soup at Tosca was so "pretty".
Cafe Ole's version with kalamata olives, cheese, bread crumbs, and lots o' lots o' butter.
The hummus special at Cafe Ole with their regular hummus, seasoned lamb on top, and fresh pita bread on the side
This dish at Corduroy is mainly all of the sides that they serve with the entrees. I was quite jealous of Amy when she ordered this. Asparagus, creamed spinach, sushi rice, carrots, green beans, shitakke mushrooms (I think), and potato au gratin.
My dad ordered the seared salmon with morel mushroons, asparagus, and a ring of mashed potatoes.
