If you can recognize the pattern on the apolstery, you know where we were.
This dish was so hot from the peppercorns, my tongue became numb and I couldn't taste anything.
1/2lb of sliced rib-eye on a 10" Amoroso roll. Oh, and no need to ask for Wiz. The true Philly cheese steak, here in the DC metro area.
Filet mignon at Ray's the Steaks, with the mushroom brandy cream sauce. It's like butta.
This yummy gnocchi with veal ragu hit the spot at Amici Miei. the gnocchi had that perfect buttery texture that I crave.
These Mayland Blue and Dungeness Crab Cakes at Blacksalt were outstanding. There was just hint of spice that snuck up on you so that you could enjpy the flavor of the crab before it took over your mouth. I also loved the smokey flavor of the asparagus.
One of the most artfully put together bread puddings I've ever had. It tasted as good as it looks.
This is my favorite dish to order at Samantha's. It's a beef tenderloin dish with a special Peruvian sauce, rice, black beans and a cilantro and onion sauce on the side. Since, it's a special, it's not always on the menu, but I think that makes it better because I can't always get it.
This is one of my biggest guilty pleasures -- a bacon cheeseburger at Cafe Deluxe. Ask for it medium rare and that's how it'll come -- not chared and overcooked like more places. Crispy shoestring fries, fresh ripe tomato (even in November)...Yum!
These beignets at Acadiana were fairly good -- better than I expected at least. THe chocolate "pudding" on the side was just perfect.
Yeah, Yeah. I know creme brulee is totally overdone...But this one was very good. I can't remember the last time I had bad creme brulee though.
How do you define pizza? Bread with sauce and cheese? At Matchbox you do. I wasn't all that impressed with the pizza at Matchbox. The toppings were really fresh, but the crust was weak and you all know how important crust is in pizza.
Matchbox mini burgers rock! I could eat 24 of these in one seating. I don't care much for the onion strings -- I pretty much left those on the plate. The brioche rolls probably have a quarter stick of butter on each of them. Very yummy!
